CHRISTMAS SORTED FOR THE KIDS!

-

THE Presentation Centre in Enniscorthy and Wexford Arts Centre have Christmas sorted for younger audiences with a series of shows to keep children entertained.

Interactive Storytelling for children aged three years and over will be presented by Shine Bright Theatre in the Presentation Centre on Sunday, December 11 at 3 pm and Wexford Arts Centre on December 17 at 3 pm.

Lisa needs help because Santa has called her and wants her to find out what’s wrong with his head elf Evie. She’s not checking the naughty and nice lists properly; she’s coming in late for work, refusing to eat her favourite chocolate chip cookies that Mrs Clause makes and she’s not talking to the other elves. Help Lisa figure out what’s wrong with Evie. Princess Chatterbox will be making an appearance to tell a story and sing a song. Children are urged to join in the Christmas spirit and wear something festive.

Meanwhile, City Theatre Company will present Santa and the Present Pirates by Shay Healy and Michael Scott at the Arts Centre on Monday, December 12 and Tuesday 13 at 10 am and 11.15am and at the Presentation Centre on Wednesday 14 at the same times.

Santa and his Chief Elf Poggle have packed the sleigh full of presents at the North Pole late on Christmas Eve, Doc is the faithful dog keeping guard. Santa sits down to have some tea and biscuits before they set off and he falls asleep in his favourite chair.

When he is asleep Captain Crabbe and his crew of wicked Pirates sneak in and steal all the Christmas presents, kidnapping Doc who was hiding in the presents. When Santa wakes up there’s no evidence of the cuprit except for a big black flag over the fireplace with a skull and cross bones on it. It can mean only one thing - the Present Pirates!

Santa, Poggle and Twinkle the fairy try to track the pirates down, rescue Doc and get the presents back and save Christmas before it’s too late. Together they embark on a series of adventures taking them to the pirate cave, where they meet a host of colourful characters – the madcap Tucans and Myrtle the Mermaid, who help, and hinder them in their search for the evil Captain Crabbe.

The production mixes music, song, puppets and actors in a magical Christmas. Suitable for junior infants up to 3rd class.

The music and lyrics are all live and can be downloaded here - www.citytheatredublin.com
