Women’ s Premier Division

East End United 0, Adamstown L.F.C. 4: Adamstown moved to within a point of the leaders after they travelled to first-placed East End United and came away 4-0 winners.

Chantelle Martin showed a return to scoring form with two goals, with Jasmine Martin and Sandra Thorpe also both scoring in this vital victory. Seaview United 5, Benfica

L.F.C. 2: Seaview have edged to the top of the Premier Division after they overcame a Benfica side which finds itself currently bottom of the table.

Seaview led 5-0 thanks to goals from Bríd Kehoe (2), Méabh Kehoe, Libby Sutton and Kellie Mullan before Benfica scored two late goals through Lisa Dower

Women’s Division 1

Piltown F.C. 0, All Blacks 1: All Blacks made the long trip to Piltown and came away with a vital three points that moves them into second place in the division.

Róisín Furlong scored the only goal of the game in a very closely-fought battle between two skilful football teams, and this win sees All Blacks leapfrog Piltown into second place.

Women’ s Division 2 A

St. Joseph’s 3, Camolin Celtic

1: The home side are now three points clear at the top of the table after they overcame Camolin Celtic 3-1 in Kilmuckrid­ge on Sunday morning. Michelle Gahan had St. Joseph’s 2-0 up at half-time before Aoife Curran pulled one back early in the second-half, but Joey’s had the final say when a Camolin defender deflected into her own net seven minutes from the end. Moyne Rangers 4, New Ross Town 2: Rangers collected their second win of the season when they overcame a determined Ross Town 4-2 to move away from the relegation zone.

Siobhán Grant-Moorehead scored a hat-trick while Aideen Byrne was also on target for Moyne, while Linda Kelly and Sandra Murphy scored for Town.

Women’ s Division 2 B

Rosslare Rangers 0, Cour

town Hibs 3: Courtown Hibs made it five wins from five games and sit just a point behind leaders Bunclody after this hard-earned win in Rosslare Rangers.

Therese Flynn and Marian Cardiff had Hibs 2-0 up at the break, and Therese added another midway through the second-half to ensure victory. Shelburne F.C. 4, Seaview United ‘B’ 3: Shannon Doyle scored a hat-trick for Seaview’s second team but it was not enough as the home side scored through Mairéad O’Shea, Shauna Cowman, Eimear Murphy and Becca Foley to give Shelburne a 4-3 win.

Women’s Division 3

Tombrack United 5, Cushinstow­n A.F.C. 0: Tombrack joined

Stoney at the top of the table after they overcame a hard-working Cushinstow­n side 5-0.

Goals from Sarah Merrigan, Leanne Kenny and Mary Boland had them 3-0 ahead at the break, and second half strikes from Sharon Walsh and Tammy Hennessy wrapped up the three points. St. Cormac’s 5, Ajax Athletic 3: The home side moved up to third in the table when they overcame an improving Ajax side in an eight-goal thriller.

Lorraine Fortune with four and Aoife Sutton made up the home side’s tally while Sophie Savage scored a hat-trick for the visitors. Fastnet Rovers 6, Bridge Rov

ers 3: Fastnet picked up their second win of the season when proving too strong for Bridge Rovers and eventually running out 6-3 winners. Deirdre Byrne and Hayley Lacey (two) scored for Bridge, while Joanne Jordan (two), Annie Breen (two), Kathlynn Gabbett and Shirley O’Neill were all on target for the home side.
