Blistering Bunclody net magnificent seven

Premier Division

Bunclody turned on the style on Sunday as they outgunned Gorey Celtic 7-2 to move level with Courtown Hibs in fifth place in the Premier Division.

Both of these sides got promoted last season and on Sunday’s evidence Bunclody look to be in a better place, with Eddie Black, P.J. Mulhall (two), John Breen, Johnny Thorpe, Johnny Melay and Timmy Halpin all contributing goals in an impressive win.

Division 1

Seán Ryan was the star of the show for St. Leonards on Sunday as they put bottom side Taghmon United to the sword.

Ryan scored four goals in their 5-1 triumph, with Matty Flynn grabbing the other goal for the winners.

Gary O’Leary bagged two goals for St. Joseph’s but found himself on the losing side as they were edged out 3-2 by Forth Celtic, while the prolific Paul ‘Roddy’ Doyle was again on the scoresheet as St. Cormac’s drew 1-1 away to Ferns United, with Jonny Dwyer netting for the hosts.

Division2

Seán Roche grabbed a hattrick for bottom side Gorey Rangers as they earned their first win of the campaign. James Lynch got their other goal as they overcame Ajax Athletic 4-2.

An Ian White double helped Adamstown to a 3-2 win against Shamrock Rovers.

Alan Bradley got the other goal for the winners, with Colin Sheehan and Eoin McDonnell replying for Rovers.

North End United proved much too good for Stoney Rovers, winning 5-0 with a Danny Fitzpatrick double and one apiece from Brandon Sinnott, Ashley Haughton and Robert Dempsey, while Crossabeg saw off Fastnet Rovers 5-2 with goals from Joe Wilson, Alex Wilson, Jamie Creane, Mark Hayes and an own goal.

Division 2A

Rosslare Port returned from Killenagh with three points thanks to a 4-0 win on Sunday.

Aaron Corish, Liam Delaney (two) and Seán Byrne got their goals.

Mark Buckley, Gary Collins and James Murphy all hit the back of the net for Rosslare Strand but their efforts were in vain as they were edged out 4-3 in Duncannon.

North End United won 1-0 in Fethard thanks to a Jay Leniston strike, while Enniscorthy Town earned a 3-1 win against Rathnure.

Division3

Enniscorthy United moved to the summit of Division 3 after seeing off The Ballagh 3-1 on Sunday.

Barry Nolan bagged a double for the Enniscorthy men, with Billy Millar adding their other goal.

Bree United are also riding high in the table and an Enda Minogue goal was enough for them to pick up another three points in Ferns.

Ballymurn beat New Ross Celtic 2-1 with goals from Shane O’Rourke and Shane Whelan, while Oylegate beat Caim United by the same scoreline thanks to a John McCormack double.

Raheen also chalked up a 2-1 win, with Dylan Whitty bagging both goals and Nicky Sinnott replying for Cushinstown.

Division3A

Bridge Rovers moved to within five points of leaders Wexford Albion thanks to a 4-1 win over Rosbercon United on Sunday.

Ned Hendrick was the main man for Castledockrell as his hat-trick helped them to a 4-1 away win against Wexford Celtic, with Patrick Somers bagging their other goal.

Camolin edged out Curracloe 2-1, while Frank Roche and Leigh Waters scored two goals apiece for Courtown Hibs in their 4-0 win over Campile.

Division4

Rosslare Rangers leapfrogged Crossabeg at the top of Division 4 thanks to a 2-0 win over their rivals on Sunday. Dylan Parle and Cian Meyler got the goals for the new table-toppers.

Wexford Bohs beat Corach Ramblers 3-1 thanks to goals from Chris Downes and Alan Flood (two), with Jon Reville replying for Corach.

Hasane Smyth completed his hat-trick with a 96th-minute penalty to earn Enniscorthy United a dramatic 3-2 win over Gorey Celtic. Dale Kirwan got the goal for Moyne Rangers in their 2-1 loss against Carne F.C.

Division4A

Cloughbawn remain two points clear at the top of Division 4A after overcoming Tombrack 3-1 on Sunday.

Second-placed St. Joseph’s kept the pressure on though, beating Taghmon United 3-1 with a double from Pa O’Brien and a goal from Gary Doran.

Shamrock Rovers were held to a 2-2 draw by Bree United, with Pa Redmond and Michael Clinton scoring for Rovers and Seán Ring and Jason Kearns replying for Bree.

Boolavogue chalked up a 4-0 win away to Enniscorthy Town with goals from Fionn Doyle, Jason Quigley, Lee Murphy and an own goal, while Ajax Athletic edged out Rosslare Port 3-2.

Division5

Danny Walsh was the match-winner for Wexford Albion on Sunday as he grabbed the only goal of the game against St. Cormac’s. Stoney Rovers went on a scoring spree against Duncannon, winning 9-2 with a hat-trick from Paul Delaney, a double from Daniel O’Grady and goals from Aaron Philpott, Baba Ali, Jamie Keating and Wayne Donnelly. Caim United won 4-3 in Camolin, while Cushinstown and Killenagh shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw.
