Congratulations to Eugene Doherty who finished twelfth overall and second in his age category at the Slí Cualann 4 Mile Trail Race in Avondale on Sunday. Well done Eugene!

S.BR.. were well represented at last Sunday’s 5k Muck Run organised by Ferns G.A.A. on O’Toole’s land in Tombrack. It was a very novel race over stumble fields, flooded lanes and natural bog land!

Denis Moynihan led home the one hundred-plus field from Paul Gibbons in second, Jim O’Malley in third and Tomás Kavanagh in fourth, making it a clean sweep for the club.

Louise Kehoe ran brilliantly and was the first lady home. Pádraig Sweeney, Paddy Murphy, Pat O’Neill with his son Paddy, and Lisa Prendergast-Murphy with her daughter Niamh, were the other club members to compete well. Many thanks to everyone who helped organise such a fun and interesting race.

Tomás Kavanagh continued his brilliant year on Saturday, November 12, with a fifth place finish out of 139 runners at the Wexford Park Run at Johnstown Castle. Well done Tomás!

Training continues for cross-country with the Wexford Senior cross-country championships to take place on December 18.

Runners are meeting in Ferns on Tuesday and Thursday nights. For more information contact Lukie Kehoe (087-3222914).
