Sonny bill speeds home

-

THE LAST of the big unraced stakes got under way at Enniscorthy Dog Track on Monday of last week, sponsored by Roban Financial (Enniscorthy).

Heat one saw the fastest of the four winners in Monbeg Sonnybill who showed good early pace to lead. The hot favourite ran out a very snug victor by three and a half lengths in a good 29.17.

The Speedrite A4 second round was also completed, and the Seamus ‘Shanks’ Whelan-owned Piercestown Anna followed up her first round win when taking heat two in the fastest of the round, finishing well to record a useful 29.21.

Thursday night’s card was an all-graded affair and the John Codd and Diana Brodie-owned Tagalong Roy seems to be able to stay ahead of the grader.

He completed a four-timer when taking the last race of the evening over 550 yards, running out a three-length winner in a time of 31.71 and taking his career winning total to 17.
