-

CELEBRITY chef Neven McGuire visited New Ross last week to film with Tom and Laura Sinnott of award winning Wexford Home Preserves business for the Dunnes Stores Simply Better Collection.

The chef and crew visited the Wexford Home Preserves headquarters at Waterford Road Business Park in New Ross to see first hand how their award winning products are made by hand in small batches using all natural ingredients from local growers. They then popped into the Brandon House Hotel to chat about how important their focus on quality is.

Wexford Home Preserves won nine Great Taste awards in the autumn, including one three star award in August for their Simply Better Handmade Irish Blackcurrant Preserve.

The company, who are members of Wexford Food Family, was first established in 1988 by Ellen O’Leary. The company has gone from strength to strength since her nephew Tom Sinnott and his wife Laura Dunne took over the business in 2008.

All Wexford Home Preserves products, including jams, marmalades and premium preserves, are hand made using the traditional open pot boiling method.

Tom and Laura currently employ around eight local people at their site in Waterford Road Business Park in New Ross.

Their busines has won numerous awards in recent years and are part of a thriving artisan food revolution in Ireland, where Wexford food producers are making a name for themselves by winning awards for the quality of their goods.

The finished film will be broadcast in the near future at a date to be confirmed.
