CHESS AND DRAUGHTS

Bree-Davidstown Community Games Chess and Draughts continue on Tuesday evening from 7-8.30 p.m. in Bree Hall. All children from eight years to 16 years are welcome. Cost is €1 per child.

PTAA MASS AND DINNER

The Ferns Diocesan Mass will take place in St Senan’s Church on Wednesday, November 23, at 7.30 p.m. The PTAA annual dinner will follow in the Riverside Park Hotel commencing at 8.30 p.m. For more informatio­n please contact Eddie Dunne at 053 9247882.

YOUTH CLUB NEWS

Bree Youth Club’s split-thepot fundraiser is up and running. Envelopes are available in local shops and at Youth Club each Friday night. Draw will take place on the last Friday of each month. Please support this venture as all funds raised will go back into the youth club. Preparatio­ns are under way for our first variety show which will take place in December. Anyone wishing to take part should attend auditions and rehearsals in Galbally Hall each Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Extra rehearsals will be arranged in the coming weeks. This is sure to be a great family event and will give the kids, and some of the adults, a chance to show off their many talents.

WHO’S GOT TALENT

After seven years the return of ‘Who’s Got Talent’ hosted in Bree Community Centre is finally on its way with cash prizes. This year the talent competitio­n will consist of three heats and one Grand Final over two nights as follows

PARISH FOCUS

The Christian Media Trust, in associatio­n with South East Radio, presents Parish Focus with Martin Colfer on Monday evenings at 8.30 p.m. On Monday, November 29, the focus of attention will be on Bree Parish.

HOPE CHRISTMAS CARDS

Packs of HOPE Christmas Cards are now available to buy from Bree CEP/Parish Office costing €5 per pack of six cards. All proceeds go to the HOPE Cancer Support Centre in Enniscorth­y.

BREE AC

Bree AC AGM will take place on Thursday, December 1, at 7 p.m. followed by the annual Awards Presentati­on at 8 p.m. All athletes and their parents are welcome to attend. There will be no indoor athletics training on that night.

BREE MACRA NEWS

Congratula­tions to Sarah Doyle, Aine Doyle and William Spratt Murphy on winning the National semi-final in Public Speaking on Saturday night last in Mountmelli­ck. Their topic was ‘Reality TV’. Sarah won best speaker on the night. Best wishes to the team in the national final which takes place in Tullamore on Saturday, December 3. Their topic for the national final is ‘Children’s Toys should be gender neutral’.

Best wishes also to Aine Doyle in the National Improtu Speaking in Michelstow­n, Co Cork this weekend.
