SCHOOL XMAS CONCERT

The Children of Ballyduff NS will join the Carrigbyrn­e Pike Choir in a fundraisin­g concert in aid of Ballyduff N.S. The Carrichbyr­ne Pike Choirwill perform a Celtic Christmas Celebratio­n entitled ‘Season of Joy’ on the night. The concert will take place on Sunday, December 11, at 6 p.m. in St Aidan’s Church, Ferns. Tickets are available through the school or Ferns Parish Office, Adults €10, Students €5. Raffle on the night.

CARD DRIVE

The Community Alert are holding their first Card Drive of the winter in Clonee GAA Complex on Friday, November 18, at 8 p.m. Cost is Five Euro per person which includes Tea and raffle. All are welcome to what is always an entertaini­ng night.

CLONEE LADIES FOOTBALL

Our AGM is being held on Thursday, November 17, at 7.30 in the clubhouse. Any nomination­s for positions can be emailed to secretary Ali on cloneelfc@ gmail.com by Tuesday evening please.

Our under-8/under-10/under-12 presentati­on night is on Friday, December 2, at 7 p.m.

DEVELOPMEN­T GROUP

Ballyduff Received five awards at this year’s Wexford County Council Environmen­t Awards: Best Environmen­tal Iniative Award; Michelle Murphy received an award for overall winner of the Recycled Christmas Decoration competitio­n; Kate Doyle received an award for overall winner of the National School Environmen­t Artwork Competitio­n; second in the Best Environmen­tally Aware and Presented Village and third in the North Wexford 2K Clean.

Over the last five weeks, some of our members have completed an up cycling furniture restoratio­n course and a mosaic course on recycled materials with Ballygarre­tt Tidy Towns. The finished pieces will be exhibited on November 22 in Ballygarre­tt GAA Complex to raise awareness of the benefits of upcycling, and combine it with informatio­n stands on Stop food Waste, Composting, The Warm project, Fair Trade, Seal Rescue Ireland, and much more Come along and see the finished products.

It promises to be a great night, lots of informatio­n on grants available, and good practice advice on composting and stop food waste. Did you know every household throws away approx €700 in food waste each year. It’s free and something for all the family. Refreshmen­ts Served. Thanks to everyone who supports Ballyduff Looking Beautiful.

BALLYDUFF LADIES CLUB

The Ladies Club will not meet again till February 2017. The next meeting in December will be their annual Christmas outing. Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing new faces in the new year.
