Allegedly threatened garda with a knife
GOREY District Court heard an allegation last Wednesday that a 19-year-old Enniscorthy man threatened a garda with a butcher’s knife.
Charlie Hollwill of Carrigabruce, Enniscorthy, faces a series of charges including contravening a barring order on September 4 last, and failing to leave the family home.
It’s alleged Garda Alan Collins was called to the house to deal with a domestic incident, and that the defendant stood in a doorway and threatened him with a butcher’s knife which had a 12-inch blade.
As well as being charged with producing a knife to intimidate another person, he is also charged with smashing a sitting room window, causing €250 worth of damage on the same date.
Also listed against him are charges of: criminal damage at St Patrick’s Special School, Enniscorthy, on April 12, 2015; criminal damage at Enniscorthy Garda Station on the same date; unlawful possession of drugs at Bellefield Road, Enniscorthy, on January 7 last; possession of a knife or other article at Cathedral Street, Enniscorthy, on October 31, 2015; criminal damage at Rayners Ltd., The Still, Enniscorthy, on July 22, 2015; and public intoxication at The Paddocks, Enniscorthy, on April 19, 2016.
Solicitor Lana Doherty said her client has settled down, is now working, and has a good relationship with his family. The case was put back to February 1.
