Hannah’s hat-trick helps Hibs progress
U-12 Cup first round
Courtown Hibs 6, Shelburne FC 1: Hibs continued their good form this season with a 6-1 win over a hard-working Shelburne side.
Neala Barron was on target for Shelburne but a hat-trick from Hannah Redmond and a goal each from Grace Davis, Rebecca O’Connor and Sasha Greene saw Hibs through.
Bridge Rovers 2nd 0, Corach Ramblers 4: Ramblers travelled to Bridge Rovers and booked their place in the last 16 of the cup. Rachel Gaynor scored a ha- trick for the visitors while the fourth goal was courtesy of an own goal by a home side defender.
New Ross Town 2nd 0, Bunclody AFC 4: Bunclody are through to the second round when they travelled to New Ross Town and came away impressive 4-0 winners.
Carnew FC 1, Campile United 1 (AET, Carnew won 3-2 on penalties): Carnew are through to the second round of the cup after they overcame Campile on penalties after a very entertaining 1-1 draw. Erin O’Callaghan was on target for Carnew while Lauren Howlin Bolger scored for Campile.
Cushinstown AFC 0, St. Cormac’s 4: St. Cormac’s made the long trip to Cushinstown and overcame the home side 4-0 to go through to the last 16.
Fastnet Rovers 0, All Blacks 5: The home side made All Blacks work hard before the visitors eventually made their way through to the second round after a 5-0 win. Aoibheann Rankin scored twice with Kiera Casey, Cora Sinnott and Ciara Murphy all adding one each.
Tombrack United 1, New Ross Celtic 5: New Ross Celtic went through to the second round after they overcame Tombrack United 5-1 after a strong first-half display.
Caoimhe Keher Murtagh scored a hat-trick for Celtic while Keelin Jensen and Aoife Kielthy added one each. Ava Dragusin scored a late consolation goal for the home side.
St. Joseph’s 0, Curracloe United 3: Curracloe United are through to the second round after they overcame St. Joseph’s 3-0 in a very entertaining cup match.
Rosslare Rangers 6, Gorey Rangers 1: Rosslare Rangers are enjoying an excellent season and continued that form in the cup when proving too strong for Gorey Rangers who scored through Ashley Fitzpatrick.
However, two goals each from Tegan Fortune, Bobby Culleton and Abigail Clarke saw the home side through.
