MACRA NOTES
County Wicklow Macra held their Christmas party in Christy’s Arklow on Saturday, December 10, in which Johnstown Coolgreany Macra attended. A great night was had by all with a meal to start, and some festive drinks to celebrate the Macra Year thus far.
Johnstown Coolgreany Macra will hold their annual Treasure Hunt on Saturday, December 17, in Gorey. Our Facebook page will include details of the event closer to the date if anyone is interested in joining the fun.
WINTER SOLSTICE
A Festive Social Evening and winter Solstice Celebration will take place in the May Byrne Trust House on Sunday, December 18, at 6.30 p.m. There will be a mulled wine reception including a variety of canapés and finger food, and lots more to be enjoyed by all. So why not come along and enjoy a relaxing evening. Everyone will be welcome.
COMMUNITY ALERT
Coolgreany Community Alert are appealing to all members of our community to be on the lookout for all our neighbours in this changing time of cold weather, and we ask you to call on and help those who may need a small bit of support over the coming weeks up to Christmas.
TIDY TOWNS
Coolgreany Village has been transformed with Christmas lights, beautiful lanterns and the trees on the Grotto, and it is all thanks to Sarah and all her ‘Little Elves’ who organised the Buy My Dress, Shoes, and Bags in O’Rafferty’s Lounge to fund the cost of the Christmas Lights. This event was a great success, so a big thanks to everyone who gave so kindly, and especially Ger and John for the use of their Lounge.
The Tidy Towns Committee would like to thank everyone who helped in so many ways during the past year, and wish everyone a very Happy Christmas, and looking forward to a very successful 2017.
