Jameson looking for brand ambassadors
IRISH Distillers, Ireland’s leading supplier of spirits and wines and producer of the world’s best known and successful Irish whiskeys, is urging local people to follow in the footsteps of County Wexford man Jamie Rath who is working as a Jameson Brand Ambassador in Boston.
Jameson is looking to recruit over 20 graduates for roles in markets including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, China, Japan and Russia where they will have a unique opportunity to develop fundamental business leadership skills with a globally successful Irish brand, supported by Irish Distillers’ and Pernod Ricard’s international network.
There are currently 75 graduates working in 42 global markets as part of the threeyear Jameson International Brand Ambassador programme, an initiative which was awarded the most popular FMCG graduate employer, as voted for by students, in 2016.
Jamie Rath, from Kilmuckridge, who joined Jameson after studying for a first class honours degree in physiotherapy at UCD, and having his own web-based company, said his experience on the Graduate Programme has been amazing.
‘It is incredible to think that as a new graduate, I am playing a role in driving the success of an Irish brand globally and supporting the global Irish whiskey success story.’
Jamie said that last year he was placed in India, the biggest whiskey market in the world and this year is in the USA, the biggest market for Jameson globally.
‘Bangalore and Boston are a long way from Wexford, but it’s been an incredible adventure so far and one I’d encourage everyone to try!’
Sinéad D’Arcy, Jameson International Graduate Programme Manager said:
‘We’re looking for creative, self-starters that want to create their own future and make the most of global opportunities with global brands.
‘We don’t place too much emphasis on academic qualifications, our emphasis is on finding candidates with the right attitude to represent our brand on a global stage,’ she said.
Online applications are now open at www.jamesongraduateprogramme.com and close at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 16.
