Gorey Rangers edge out Campile to stay top

GOREY Rangers sit on top of the Premier Division tree at Christmas after overcoming battling bottom side Campile United 2-1 on Sunday.

Eric Behan was the match winner for the pacesetters as he bagged both goals for the north county men.

Moyne Rangers are hot on their heels in second spot as they saw off New Ross Celtic 4-1. Seán Kenny, James Peare (two) and Rory O’Connor got the goals for the Enniscorthy outfit.

Red-hot Adam Beary hit Kilmore United for six as North End ran out emphatic 8-0 winners in a repeat of last season’s Wexford Cup final.

Beary had a hat-trick to his name inside 12 minutes and Jason Murphy then got in on the act by grabbing the fourth goal for the Sky Blues.

However, the hosts had the final say with Emmet Byrne scoring a dramatic injury time winner.

Gorey Celtic and Courtown Hibs shared the spoils after a real thriller in Mullaunfin.

Hibs raced into a 2-0 advantage inside 20 minutes, but Gorey Celtic fought back to take the lead before the visitors levelled it at 3-3.

Dean McCann, Ross O’Connor and Paul Brennan got the goals for Gorey Celtic, with Glen Hughes, Jack O’Brien and Eugene O’Brien replying for Hibs.
