GAA CLUB NOTES

Christmas Draw: As we come to the end of a historic 1916 we remember the Centenary Ballymurn Junior Hurling Champions of 1916 by defeating Newbawn. Raffle: the club is holding a Christmas raffle, with a first prize of €1,000, second prize is a load of fire wood. Third and forth prizes of €100 and a fifth prize of lunch for two in the Riverbank Hotel. Tickets on sale at €5 each or three for €10. Please support.

Bingo continues every Monday night in Ballymurn at 9.30 p.m., Snowball €1,400.

CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS

The club will be selling raffle lines for a trailer load of timber over the next few weeks. This is our first Féile fundraiser and we would really appreciate everyones support. One line is €2 or three lines for €5. All our under-14 girls have a raffle sheet as well and would love you to support them. They can also be found in the local shops and pubs. Draw will take place on Thursday, December 22. Please support.

COMMUNITY FITNESS

Crossabeg-Ballymurn Ladies Gaelic Football Club presents Operation Transforma­tion and Between the Bells 2017, a community fitness activity for all the family – let’s get fitter together.

Crossabeg Ballymurn Ladies Gaelic Football Club organised a fundraiser to get the community active in 2016. It was a great success and we will be running the same format in January 2017.

The fit-fun starts at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, and finishes on Tuesday, February 21. The final get together will take place on Tuesday, February 28. More informatio­n can be found on the Crossabeg-Ballymurn Ladies Gaelic Football Facebook page.

DEEPEST SYMPATHY

Deepest sympathy is extended to Mick and Kathleen Brooks, Ballina on the death of Mick’s sister Ann Maher who was laid to rest in Ballindagg­in last week. May she rest in peace.

Christmas cards from Ballymurn are on sale in Daybreak. Thanks to Peter Doyle for facilitati­ng this. All proceeds go toward church funds.

TIDY TOWNS

We would like to thank everyone that contribute­d to the collection jar in Daybreak and also to Peter Doyle for facilitati­ng this. We have used the money to buy extension cables and Christmas lights for the village.
