CHRISTMAS MASSES

The Christmas Eve Vigil Mass will be in Galbally at 7 p.m. and in Bree and Ballyhogue at 9 p.m. Mass on Christmas morning in both Bree and Galbally at 10 a.m. Fr Byrne and Fr Quinn wish all parishione­rs a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May the coming of the Holy Family enlighten all your homes and hearts with love, faith and peace this Christmas.

BREE AC NEWS

Indoor training resumes on January 12 at 7 p.m. for five to eight and from 7.45 for all others. Well done to Ciara Laffan on winning the bronze at the national final of ‘Fastest Feet’ in Tullamore on Saturday last. Well done also to Cian O’Donovan and Jayden Kenny on reaching the national final. We wish all members and their families a happy Christmas.

BREE MACRA NEWS

Bree Macra wishes its members and their families a happy Christmas and a Happy New Year. Club highlights of 2016 include the clubs senior citizens Christmas Tea Party, National runners-up awards in Capers and Public Speaking as well as county titles/entries in events such as soccer, bowling and question time. A huge thank you to everyone who made these events possible.

Activities planned for 2017 include a Senior Citizens Tea Party (provisiona­lly planned for Easter time this year), National Talent competitio­n, Capers, tag rugby, Volleyball as well as trips to different Macra events. Check out Bree Macra on Facebook for more info.

WHO’S GOT TALENT

Heat 1 is on Friday, January 6, and Heat 2 is on Saturday, January 7, in Bree Hall at 8 p.m. each evening. The Grand Final is on Saturday, January 21. ACTIVE RETIREMENT

The Christmas party Day is on this Wednesday, December 21, in the Riveside Hotel at 1.30 p.m. – members and non-members welcome. The next meeting of the group will be the club AGM on January 18. We would love to have full attendance for that meeting. As we prepare for our break over Christmas from bowls and social afternoons, we would like to wish everyone a very peaceful and happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
