VINTAGE RUN

The last run of the year by the Clonroche-Poulpeasty Vintage Society will be held as usual on St Stephen’s Day. It will commence at 12.30 from Clonroche to Aughyvouir. A large turnout is anticipate­d this year. The majority of the proceeds will go towards Clonroche Meals on Wheels. Further informatio­n available from Leo Tector at 087 2464479.

BOOK LAUNCH

Damien Cullen launched his book ‘Castleboro, The Lost Legacy’ on Thursday, December 15, in the Cloch Ban. This books gives a historical insight to the Castleboro Estate from its foundation­s to its demise, and from the arrival of the Carew Family to their Departure. Packed full of local history and photos, it will make great reading, Damien would like to extend his thanks to all who helped in any way with the production of the book, to all who provided stories, photos and aritcles. Castleboro, The Lost Legacy is on sale in the the local shops.

SPLIT-THE-POT

This winner of this week’s splitthe-pot was Billy Kinsella, Killegney, the winner of the hamper was Paddy O’Reilly Poulpeasty, The pot was €454, Envelopes available in local business around the village.
