Pudding Run and a hunt on bright St Stephen’s Day

-

ON A BRIGHT and beautiful St Stephen’s morn, Enniscorthy was bathed in winter sunshine and the spirit of Christmas giving, first at Bellefield GAA Complex as a large crowd gathered for the ninth annual Michael Foley Pudding Run. Members of Michael’s family, extended family, friends, colleagues, team mates and associates came together as they have done each year since his untimely death to remember him and honour his life along with renewing old friendships in a fundraising event for the CBS Bursary in his name.

The annual event organised by brothers Jim and Phil Kearney has become not just a chance to shake off the festive cobwebs and seasonal over indulgence but an opportunity for old friends and family to meet and spend time in each others company at Yuletide as well as raising money for the worthy Bursary.

After the five-mile walk all returned to the Bellefield clubhouse for light refreshments catered by Majella Murphy and Terri Foley, where Phil Kearney thanked all for coming and presented prizes to all the winners.

Then it was on to the Still for the St Stephen’s Day Hunt, another great annual fundraiser for Enniscorthy Community Workshop another very worthy cause and another fantastic Christmas social occasion where people come together over the festive period to enjoy the spectacle and tradition of the Hunt.
