The last social for 2016 will be held in Kiltealy Community Hall this Friday, December 30, from 10 p.m. to 12.30 a.m. with music by Pat Costello, teas served, admission €7, sure to be a great Christmas time night out.

SPLIT THE POT

The full pot was given out for Christmas in Kiltealy NS split-thepot last week Monday, December 19. The winner of half pot was Larry Myler (postman).€316. Quarter pot Pat O’Leary, Spring- mount €158. Quarter pot Caoimhe Murphy, Cullentrag­h €158. Thank you for your continued support of Kiltealy N.S. during 2016 and a very happy New Year to all.

CAMOGIE CLUB AGM

Duffry Rovers camogie club AGM will take place in Ballindagg­in Community Hall on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 8 p.m. Parents, mentors, intermedia­te panel and committee members are asked to please attend.

As the club will be celebratin­g 40 years next year as a camogie club it’s important to get a large attendance at this meeting. A special thank you to all who helped out in any way during 2016.

COMMUNITY PLAYSCHOOL

Children of Blackstair­s Playschool had a lovely carol service on Wednesday last with parents and some family members in attendance while the children gave a lovely performanc­e under the guidance of the dedicated staff. Santa arrived with gifts much to the delight of the little ones. The draw for the hamper was won by Eliza Curtis, Cloroguemo­re.

The playschool staff and committee would like to thank all parents for their support in Christmas hamper fundraiser and wish you all a very happy New Year. The playschool will reopen on Monday, January 9, 2017.

KILTEALY NS

Pupils of Kiltealy NS attended their end of year Mass in Kiltealy Church on Wednesday last celebrated by Fr Fintan Morris C.C. The children had great fun at their annual Christmas party last week with lots of goodies and entertainm­ent and Santa in attendance.

GET WELL WISHES

Best wishes to all from the area who are unwell at present either home or in hospital this Christmas season. Hope you are feeling better soon. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

DUFFRY ROVERS

Work on the Duffry Rovers grounds in Coolree is now completed. The walking track has been resurfaced and new lighting installed. It’s great to see so many people using the track every night. New toilets which are wheelchair accessible have also been completed in the car park. Some seats in the new stand can still be purchased. The official opening will now take place later in 2017.

THE MONDAY CLUB

The Monday Club at Bunclody Day Care Centre will reopen on Monday, January 9, 2017.
