THE Ferrybank Lounge is the heart of the Arklow Bay Hotel.

The perfect place for casual dining, it serves an extensive bar food menu throughout the day and carvery every Sunday from 12.30 - 4 p.m.

From starters including Kilmore Quay smoked salmon with apple, strawberry and celery salad and creamy seafood chowder to gourmet sandwiches and main courses including the very popular roast of the day.

A firm favourite with customers, the roast changes daily and is served with potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

Other favourites included the homemade 8oz Angus beef burger, traditiona­l fish and chips, grilled sea trout with braised fennel and a mango, coriander and chilli salsa.

Your sweet tooth will also be satisfied with a delicious dessert or homemade cake freshly baked daily by local woman Susan Kinch.

Choose from homemade Toblerone cheesecake, warm apple pie or warm sticky toffee pudding with butterscot­ch sauce.

Children are also very welcome and a special menu, which they can colour in, has been created just for them including favourites like chicken goujons, pasta and half portions of the daily roast.

If it’s just a drink you are in search of then look no further because The Ferrybank Lounge is certain to be able to cater to your heart’s desire.

Stocking an extensive selection of wines, beers and premium spirits including the very rare Midleton brand, 18 year-old Jameson whiskey as well as a full cocktail menu, Team Ferrybank Lounge will be happy to serve you.

The bar has jumped on board the massive current gin trend and has a great selection to offer including Copperhead, Shortcross, Hendrick’s, Tanqueray, Dingle and Bombay Sapphire.

They also carry a value lager and carry the Wicklow Brewery St Kevin’s Red Ale, craft beer. If it’s a cocktail you are after, then make sure to try the house favourite - the strawberry daiquiri.

There is also plenty of entertainm­ent ongoing in The Ferrybank Lounge with music every Saturday night and on Sunday evenings from 7.30 - 9.30 p.m.

With four screens, sports fans will be very happy as they can keep up to date with all the major sporting events including the Six Nations which got underway at the weekend.
