Guardian readers in the money with cash surprise

There were happy faces all round last week as five lucky readers of the Guardian newspapers got more than they bargained for when they picked up their copy of the paper.

The Guardian Buy and Win promotion is back again and five lucky people will pick up a handy €20 when they purchase their copy of their favourite local paper.

In Pettitt’s Supervalu in Enniscorthy Amy Fenlon from Bellefield was over the moon when marketing executive Donna Murphy from People Newspapers handed her €20 just for buying the paper.

‘I’m thrilled to get such an unexpected surprise’, said Amy.

Fran Miller of Urrin Valley didn’t suspect a thing when he went to the tills at Mace Maxol in Bellefield, Enniscorthy with his copy of the Enniscorthy Guardian. However he was more than happy to receive the cash from Donna especially for buying the paper he picks up every week.

He said he was delighted with the unexpected windfall.

Jim Murray travelled to Pettitt’s in Gorey to purchase his copy of the Gorey Guardian and was chuffed to bits when handed €20. He said it was great that not only would he be getting all the best local news and sport but also money for nothing!

The final winner this week was Anthony O’Hara from Gorey who bought his ticket in Osbourne’s Daybreak, Gorey.
