North End United 3, Bunclody AFC 0: Division 1 champions North End were flattered by this 3-0 scoreline against their Division 2B opponents as they required two very late goals to be eventually sure of their place in the semi-final.
Natasha Walsh gave the home side a firsthalf lead but Bunclody were unlucky not to equalise when they missed a penalty, and two late goals from Shauna Carley and Danielle Chin saw North End through.
East End United 7, Piltown FC 1: A Jenny Reddy hat-trick laid the foundations for East End United’s comfortable victory over Piltown to book their place in the semi-final of the Wexford Cup.
Lauren Valentine and Hannah Scott added one each while Rebecca Walsh scored twice. Emily O’Mahony was on target for Piltown who had no response to the sharpshooting home side.
Women’sDivisionalShieldsemi-final
Camolin Celtic 5, St. Joseph’s 1: Camolin booked their place in the final of the Divisional Shield after a strong second-half performance saw them eventually overcome St. Joseph’s.
Caroline Murphy scored twice for the home side with Niamh O’Leary, Megan Murray and Aoife Curran also finding the net, while Lisa Johnston was on target for the visitors.
Women’sPremierDivision
Adamstown 3, Curracloe United 0: The home side overcame a depleted Curracloe side to keep alive their title ambitions, and they have also made sure of their place in the Premier Division after this 3-0 win.
Nikki Dunphy, Jasmine Martin and Sandra Thorpe were all on target for Adamstown.
Benfica LFC 1, Seaview United 3: As we approach the final few games of the season, Benfica are finding it difficult to pull clear of the relegation battle while Seaview have returned to the top of the table after this 3-1 win in Waterford.
Brianne O’Connor scored for the home side while Catherine Doyle, Ashling Mullan and Kelly Mullan all scored for Seaview.
Women’sDivision2A
New Ross Town 3, Cloughbawn AFC 6: Cloughbawn have moved to within one point of winning the league after this 6-3 win away to New Ross Town.
Two goals each from Gina Foley and Hannah Keating as well as one apiece from Tina Cullen and Kate Cullen had them well in control, while Sinéad Ryan scored twice for Town with Linda Kelly also finding the net.
Women’sDivision2B
Wexford Bohs 1, Courtown Hibs 4: Courtown Hibs returned to the top of the table after this 4-1 win away to Wexford Bohs, ensuring themselves of promotion in the process.
Shelly Leahy was on target for Bohs while a Marian Cardiff hat-trick and a goal from Caoimhe Mckeown made up the visitors’ tally.
Rosslare Rangers 5, Seaview United 1: Rangers picked up their fifth win of the season when proving too strong for Seaview United’s second string.
Shannon Doyle scored for the visitors but two goals from Clodagh Cousins and one each from Robin Brennan, Amanda Black and Sinéad Walsh gave the home side all three points.
Women’sDivision3
St. Cormac’s 0, Tombrack United 5: A strong second-half performance from Tombrack saw them overcome St. Cormac’s in difficult conditions and wrap up the Division 3 title in the process.
Shannon McGovern gave them a first-half lead, and they added a second early in the second-half, with Sarah Merrigan also scoring two and Kelli Maguire adding one to give Tombrack their ninth win of the season.
They will be presented with their league trophy next week.
Stoney LFC 1, Ajax Athletic 1: Ajax picked up their third point of the season after a determined performance against a Stoney side which has endured a bad run of form since coming back from the Christmas break.
Samantha O’Grady was on target for Stoney, with Siobhán Grant-Moorehead scoring for Ajax.
Cushinstown AFC 0, Bridge Rovers 0: These two sides played out a scoreless draw in very difficult conditions, with neither able to break down the opposing defence.
Both sides finished off their season with a good run of results and both will be looking forward to the possibility of a good run in one of the two divisional cups up for grabs.
