LATE MICHAEL JORDAN

The death occurred on Monday, January 30, of Michael (Mick) Jordan, Cloroguemore, Kiltealy. Mick, as he was known to all, is deeply mourned by his loving wife Anna, loving daughters Máiréad, Michelle and Linda, adored grandchildren Louise and Danny, brother Jack and sisters Nell and Mary. Also missed by son-in-law Lorcan, Linda’s partner Dermot, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family and many friends.

Mick, who was age 67 years, was very popular in the area and known for his cheerful and outgoing personality and positive attitude bringing out the best in everyone, young and old alike. He was a real character, always with a joke or story to tell and loved a good game of cards. Mick enjoyed tending to the stock on his small farm and also enjoyed all sport, especially Wexford hurling of which he was a keen follower. During his time working at Co. Wexford Marts some years back he was quick to pick up useful auctioneering skills which he put to good use at charity auctions at the local field day.

He lived life to the full and all those who remember him recall happy, fun and fond memories of him. Mick was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed by all but especially by his loving family. Interred in Kiltealy Cemetery on Wednesday, February 1, following funeral Mass in Kiltealy Church. May he rest in peace.

HOUSE OF STORIES

It was with a feeling of great sadness due to the death of the late Larry Redmond that patrons gathered in Ballindaggin Hall for the February session of house of stories. Larry was the heartbeat of the group, he was involved in every aspect of the monthly sessions.

His commitment and enthusiasm was incredible and over and above the call of duty and he would entertain with a song or recitation. He has left a void impossible to fill. Among the many beautiful renditions of song and story Jim Doyle sang ‘The Old Man’ as a tribute to Larry after which there was a prolonged applause. There was a minutes silence as a mark of respect.

Deepest sympathy was extended to his wife Kathy and family Ann, John and Peter. Sympathy was also passed to Biddy and Seán Doyle on the recent passing of their daughter Margaret Casey, to Anna Jordan on the passing of her husband Michael, to Joe and Paddy Bernie on the passing of their sister and to Willie Kehoe on the passing of his niece Delores. prayerful good wishes were extended to all who are unwell at present especially Michael O’Neill, who is recovering from surgery.
