CAMOGIE

Duffry Rovers camogie club are celebratin­g their 40th anniversar­y this year and to mark the occasion the club is holding a dinner dance on Saturday, April 15, in the Riverside Park Hotel at 7.30 p.m. A great night of music and prizes guaranteed so club members want as many people as possible to get their glad rags on and come out and celebrate with them. Tickets are priced at €30 and are available from committee members.

‘ROSE OF KILTEALY’

Kiltealy Hall was packed to capacity on Saturday night last for a brilliant night of entertainm­ent to raise funds for Kiltealy developmen­t project.

All the laddies gave a great performanc­e and following the voting process Alymer Dalton and Mick Mooney emerged joint winners with their double act. David Armstrong was runner-up.

DUFFRY ROVERS GAA

Duffry Rovers GAA club are running a car wash in Kiltealy on Saturday, February 25, at 9 a.m. All proceeds will go towards the ‘Fight Night’ on April 1. Please support. Training for the ‘Fight Night’ V HWH, Bunclody is in full swing.

The February social will be held in Kiltealy Community Hall this Friday, February 24, at usual time with music by Declan Augier. Admission €8 including tea

GET FIT GET ACTIVE

Duffry Rovers GAA club, camogie club and Baile Dubh Tire ladies’ football club are running a number of ‘Get fit Get active’ events over the coming weeks. Registrati­on and optional weigh in will take place on Sunday, March 5, at 6 p.m. in Coolree. Circuit fitness and boot camp classes every Tuesday and Thursday night over the eight weeks. Family walks on Sundays (5 kms) at various locations in the community some timed. Use of the walking track in Coolree available to everyone. With some of the finer details still to be finalised we wish to encourage you to take part for a positive healthier lifestyle while supporting your local GAA, football, hurling, camogie and ladies’ football teams. Prizes for the biggest loser male, female and teams.

Congratula­tions to Martin Brennan, Kiltealy on winning the BK and M McGirr perpetual cup for best two or more non-continenta­l butchers heifers at the 36th annual fat stock show and sale at Carnew Mart recently.

SPLIT THE POT

The winner of split he pot for Monday, February 13, was Anne Breen, Ballybreen, who won €212. The next draw will be on Monday, February 27, after the mid-term break

DUFFRY ROVERS LOTTO

The numbers drawn last week were 9, 11, 15 and 29. One player matched three, Paul Nolan, Springmoun­t, who won €150. Sellers prizes went to Mary Long, Ailish Atkinson, Mike Doyle and Jack Jordan. The draw tonight (Tuesday. February 21) takes place in the Thatch. Jackpot is €3,300.

DUFFRY SOCIAL CLUB

The Duffry Social takes place in Kiltealy Community Hall every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cards, bingo, chat and refreshmen­ts.
