€2m to be spent on upgrading roads
ALMOST €2m will be spent on roads in the Enniscorthy District this years.
Speaking at last Monday’s meeting of the Enniscorthy Municipal District executive engineer Joanne Kehoe said that a total of €1,452,457 will be spent in the area this year as part of the road restoration programme while a further €456,495 will be spent as part of the roads maintenance programme.
Under this year’s programme of works for the restoration programme work will be carried out on the following roads within the district: R890 between Moyne Roundabout to Pettitt’s (700metres); R702-3 at Kiltealy (900m); L2043 at Redgate towards Kilmallock (1,000m); L2047-3 at Ballynavary (950m); L2022-1 between Ballymotey to Clondaw (1,000m); L2040-6 at Glenbrien towards Ballinkeel (1,240m); L6134-2 at Curragraigue towards Ballindggin (1,000m); L60160-1 at Brague- beg (1,000m); L6110-1 between Beaufield to Courtnacuddy (1,630m); L6010-2 at Courtclogh (1,160m); L6,169-3 at Tomatee (1,000m); L6066-1 Link road between the Old Dublin Road to the N11 (318m) and the L6158 at Garraun/Forrestalstown (840m).
As part of the restoration maintenance programme surface dressing will be laid on the following roads: R742 between Ballina to 5 Cross Roads; R746 between Newtownbarry House to Brady’s Hill; L2025 Monawilling to Tiknock; R746 between Ballycrystal to Booladurragh; L2016 between Woodbrook to Mocurry; R745 between Ballindaggin to Monalee; L6122 between Templescoby to Kiltrea; L6055 at Kilpierce; L2042 between Oylegate to Coolmain; L6024 at Raheenduff; L2047 at Garr; L2009-2 between Castledockrell towards Shroughmore and the L2001 at Drumderry.
