Unique music project will help charities
A UNIQUE music project for charity will be launched on March 30 at 8pm.
The project, Blind Collaborations, the brainchild of Brendan Carthy of Orchard Recording, Enniscorthy, saw over 50 people signing up last summer.
The participants were then divided into groups with each group getting a half-day slot in the recording studios to record a song from scratch.
Every person had the opportunity of nominating their own charity of choice, and the proceeds of the album they recorded will be split equally between all of those charities.
Brendan said it had been a great experience.
‘Each weekend last summer was filled up with these sessions, with some weekends even covering up to four five hour sessions to get through the great numbers that took part.
‘It was very inspiring working with all the people who took part and witnessing the amazing level of creativity, talent and generosity shown by all.’
‘I hope to sell a lot of these CD’s so everyone’s charity gets something worthwhile and if it’s a success, we might even do another one next year.’
The launch night will take place on Thursday, March 30, upstairs at The Sky In The Ground, Wexford at 8 p.m.
