LOURDES TICKETS

Tickets will be on sale after Masson weekend of March 19 in Castledock­rell and Marshalsto­wn Churches to help send invalids to Lourdes on the Diocesan Pilgrimage from May 17 to May 22. Tickets cost €2 each, three for €5 or a book of six for €10. All support would be appreciate­d. Thank you.

SOCIAL

The next social in Marshalsto­wn Community Centre takes place on St Patrick’s night (Friday, March 17). Music by Declan Aungier that great accordion player. Doors open 9.30 p.m. Dancing starts at 10 p.m. Always a lovely night out with tea, music and a great atmosphere. Admission is €7 including tea.

STORYTELLI­NG

The next session of storytelli­ng in Castledock­rell Hall is on Thursday, March 16, at 8 p.m. There will be a raffle on the night. Tea served. Looking forward to seeing friends old and new.

CONFIRMATI­ON

Confirmati­on for the children from Marshalsto­wn and Castledock­rell takes place in the Church of All Saints, Castledock­rell on Thursday, March 30, at 11 a.m.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

First Holy Communion is in St Joseph’s Church, Marshalsto­wn on Saturday, May 13, and in the Church of All Saints, Castledock­rell on Sunday, May 14.

CÚL CAMP

Marshalsto­wn-Castledock­rell are hosting a Kellogg’s Cúl Camp in Farmleigh Park July 17 to July 21. Online booking will begin on March 1 kelloggscu­lcamp. gaa.ie.

COMMUNITY CENTRE AGM.

The AGM of Marshalsto­wn community centre is to be held on Tuesday, March 28, at 8 p.m. in the community centre.

Marshalsto­wn-Castledock­rell GAA and camogie club are hosting a table quiz in the Ballycarne­y Inn on Friday, April 7, at 9 p.m. in aid of our Féile Fund. Table of four €40. Great fun, great prizes, raffle on the night... please come along and support.

Mass This Week: Tuesday Mass at 9.30 a.m. St Patrick’s Day Vigil Mass on Thursday at 7 p.m. and St Patrick Day Mass on Friday at 10 a.m.

The collection on St Patrick’s Day goes towards the education of priests for the diocese. Last year’s collection in the diocese totalled €35,951. Bishop Brennan thanks everyone for their support.

Baptism: Welcome to baby Roisin Aine Ni Niadh, daughter of Breandan and Mired, who was baptised in St Anne’s Church last weekend.

Envelope Collection: Thanks to all who contribute­d to the Envelope Collection. €2,097 was raised during the month of February.

Thanks: On behalf of the Reilly family, we would very much like to thank family, friends, neighbours, people who travelled long journeys and all the people who supported us in so many ways in this difficult time of the passing of Johnny. Everything was very much appreciate­d. May he rest in peace.

BINGO

Bingo is played every Tuesday night at 8.30 p.m. in Rathnure hall. Rathnure Bingo is active on Facebook, search ‘Rathnure Bingo’ and like our page. Thank you. The Bingo jackpot on Tuesday the 14th is €1,800.

SOCIAL CLUB

The Social Club meets every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Rathnure hall, for bingo, chat, tea and goodies. Come along and join in the fun.

GAA CLUB LOTTO

The numbers drawn last Tuesday the seventh were 15, 16, 23 and 28. No jackpot winner. Anna Codd, Gurrawn, Alan Coleman, Rathduff, Alan Mooney, Caim, Breda Ryan, Ballywilli­am, Jimmy Fortune, The Ballagh and Marry Power, Borris were the six matchthree winners who won €34. The jackpot this week is €13,000.

SCHOOL ENROLMENTS

Rathnure National School invites applicatio­ns from parents who wish to enrol their child for September 2017. At present there are 174 pupils in the School and eight teachers. Currently each pupil qualifies for our free lunch scheme. School transport system is in operation. Enrolment forms are available from the School office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday.
