FIRST RESPONDERS

An information evening will be held in the Old School Centre on Wednesday, March 22, at 7.30 p.m. to finalise the feasibility of setting up a Community First Responders group.

A first responder is a person who is trained in basic life support, including the use of a defibrillator, who attends an actual or potentially life-threatening emergency (cardiac arrest, chest pain, stroke and choking only) within a pre-defined geographical area. The scheme would be linked to the National Ambulance Service. We would encourage people to attend and find out information on how the group operates.

This is a chance for the people of the parish to have their say on how the scheme is run and have an input into the areas to be covered. Unfortunately if there is not enough interest in setting up the scheme then it will not be possible for it to go ahead.
