ST COLMANS SCHOOL

The parents’ council of St Colman’s NS, Ballindagg­in are holding a dance in the Millrace Hotel, Bunclody on Tuesday, March 28, with music by Liam Mannaring. All proceeds in aid of school building fund.

Tickets at €10 are available in Jordan’s Shop and from the school and on the door on the night. There will be a raffle and door prizes on the night also. The parents’ council would appreciate your support for this fundraiser for the school. A great social night out promised.

ART CAMP

A fun filled arts and crafts Easter camp for primary school pupils will take place in Kiltealy Community Hall over the Easter holidays for five days from Monday, April 10, to Friday, April 14, The camp offers a variety of fun activities for pupils including arts and crafts, music, baking, games, Easter egg hunts and lots more. Open to all pupils from junior infants to second class and is co-ordinated by fully qualified and experience­d primary school teachers and will run every day from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The cost is €60 per child with a discount for additional siblings €100 for two. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The next social and tea will be held in Kiltealy Community Hall on Friday, March 31, music this month will be by ‘Checkers’, always a great night out.

FIRST CONFESSION­S

Pupils of second class Kiltealy NS made their first confession at a lovely ceremony in Kiltealy Church on Tuesday last week attended by their parents, teachers and family members.

CAMOGIE DINNER DANCE

Duffry Rovers camogie club are celebratin­g their 40th anniversar­y this year and to mark the occasion the club is holding a dinner dance on Saturday, April 15, in the Riverside Park Hotel at 7.30 p.m. A great night of music and prizes guaranteed so club members want as many people as possible to get their glad rags on and come out and celebrate with them.

Tickets are priced at €30 and are available from committee members or from club secretary at 085 2872428. Also the club is looking for photos anyone might have of players or teams over the past 40 years, if you do have any contact club secretary Melissa at above number.

GET FIT GET ACTIVE

Thanks to everyone who registered for the eight-week programme and congratula­tions to all of you for taking part for a positive healthier lifestyle while supporting your local GAA, camogie and ladies’ football clubs. Well done to all who attended the fitness classes and to all out walking the track in Coolree. We finished the first week of the programme with a 5km walk on Sunday, March 12, with neighbours, family and friends coming along to support the programme participan­ts. Next walk at Kilcullen windmill April 2 Floodlit walking track at Coolree available to everyone.

FIGHT NIGHT

Duffry Rovers GAA. Club are all set for their ‘Fight Night’ on April 1, Training for the ‘Fight Night’ V Half Way House, Bunclody has been in full swing for the past couple of months. The venue for the event is Bunclody Soccer Complex on Saturday, April 1, with the first fight at 8 p.m.

Duffry Rovers boxers are as follows; Johnny Flynn O’Connor, Derek Watchorn, Paul Nolan, Donie Doyle, Larry Doyle, Gavin Rafter, Desmond O’Connor, James Nolan, Fergal Kenny, Aidan Byrne, Annmarie Foley.

Tickets at €20 – which includes late bar and disco – are available from all the fighters and committee members. It’s sure to be a fantastic night of entertainm­ent so come out and cheer on the boxers from. Duffry Rovers.
