DS 7 CROSSBACK is very charismatic and powerful

CHARISMATIC, powerful and sensual, and billed as one of the most beautiful cars in the world, the new DS 7 CROSSBACK immediately reveals its personality and the elegant contrasts visible within its design.

The horizontal chrome DS WINGS on the front face convey a sense of prestige with their strong, well balanced lines. It fully expresses the vehicle’s nobility, performance and charismatic character.

The new diamond-effect grille sports a hexagonal surround of dynamic lines, with the DS emblem taking up a prominent stance in the centre. The modelled bonnet features subtle ribbing in the centre.

The sharp edges of the front and rear wings sculpt the sides to enhance the muscular beauty of this SUV. The wraparound tailgate offers a clean aspect of the majestic rear.

DS 7 CROSSBACK features a plug-in hybrid petrol drivetrain comprising: a 200bhp petrol engine, two electric motors (one at the front, one at the rear). The additional power provided by the two electric motors (80kW each and up to 90 kW combined) to the internal-combustion engine generates total power of 300 bhp.

The new Efficient Automatic Transmission with 8-speeds (EAT8) is positioned transversely across the front axle, between the 200bhp petrol engine and one of the electric motors. It has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 13kW/h and output of 90kW, positioned under the row 2 seat floor and an electric rear axle providing 4WD versions with a remarkable level of performance. The 450 Nm generated by the 4WD versions ensures flexibility and responsiveness for an unrivalled drive.

The DS brand has always placed particular emphasis on the light signature of its vehicles, and it continues to be a key feature of DS styling.

Resembling faceted jewels, the LED modules of the DS ACTIVE LED VISION headlamps emit a purple light when DS 7 CROSSBACK is unlocked, before pivoting progressively by 180°. The visual effect is pleasing, unusual and – above all – hypnotic. The brand’s eminently recognisable light signature is underlined by the vertical beads of the daytime-running lights, combined with the scrolling indicators.

The rear lights also contribute to the power and originality of the light signature. Each one is a full LED light made up of illuminated scales. To design this magnificent signature, named DS 3D REAR LIGHTS, the lighting designers used advanced laser engraving technology, for exceptional precision.

The ‘avant-garde’ aspect is also expressed in the interior, with two 12-inch screens positioned at the heart of the cabin. The first, in high definition, is an innovation in the fiercely competitive world of SUVs: it works with the navigation system as well as managing the multimedia interface, the entire DS CONNECT offer and the Mirror Screen function. The second is a personalisable screen dedicated to the digital instrument cluster.

The two screens strongly underscore the high-tech identity of the DS 7 CROSSBACK interior through their design and finish. The graphic designers at DS specialised in man-machine interfaces have created a unique graphic universe that confers a singular and customisable user experience echoing the DS logo. The touch functions on the central screen also feature contemporary design and simplicity in use.
