The AGM of Bree ICA will be held on Tuesday, April 11, in Bree Community Centre at 8 p.m. table quiz Wexford Academy dancers are holding a table quiz in Byrne’s Lounge, Bree on Thurs- day, April 13, at 9 p.m. in aid of their Costume Fund. All support appreciated.
SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY
Bree Macra would like to invite the senior citizens of Bree Parish to their senior citizens’ Easter Tea Party. The tea party will take place in Bree Community Centre on Monday, April 17 (Easter Monday). Refreshments will be served from 3 p.m. with light entertainment following till 5 p.m. Anyone seeking more information is asked to contact Áine (086 0825018) or Cathal (085 1461164).
BREE TIDY TOWNS
The annual Spring Clean of the Bree Parish road verges will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 22 and 23. Rubbish bags, gloves, and a limited supply of grabbers will be available in Byrnes of Bree and also from Dr Jutta O’Meara’s house. Signs will be put in place in various locations along roads where bags can be left for collection. We thank everyone for helping with this venture.
MEN’S SHED
There will be a meeting of the Men’s Shed on Tuesday, April 25, in Bree Hall at 11 a.m. New members would be very welcome to come along and find out more about the group and what they do.
LADIES’ FOOTBALL

COMMUNITY GAMES
The Community Games Co Talent Competition for under-12s and under-16s takes place in Bree Hall on Saturday, May 13, Competitors from Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn parishes are invited to take part. Events are solo and group dancing, singing, music and drama. Entries must be with the area Sec by April 28 Please check with the area sec (Clare at 087 4151350) or the Community Games website under Resources/Rule Book for each event rules. An area final may be held on May 4.
The local Athletic Finals will take place on Thursday, May 11. More details later.
GALBALLY TRACTOR RUN
The annual Galbally Tractor Run in aid of Galbally Parish Funds will take place on Sunday, May 28.
BREE AC NEWS
Outdoor athletics has resumed for the summer season in Ballyhogue GAA Grounds on Mondays and Wednesday at 7 p.m. All athletes taking part must be registered for 2017. Best wishes to those taking part in St Senan’s AC Open Sports at Kilmacow on Easter Monday.
COMMUNITY PLAYSCHOOL
Galbally Community Playschool is now taking enrolments for September 2017and cater for children from all areas. Under the ECCE scheme children can be registered for free pre-school when they are aged three, and will be able to remain in free pre- school till they make the transition to primary school. CLOTHING COLLECTION
Bri Beag is hosting a clothing, household textiles and mobile phone recycling collection with drop off at Bree Community Centre on Thursday, April 27, from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and on Friday morning, April 28, from 8.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. or drop bags into Bri Beag. Items accepted are clean, dry clothing, soft toys, shoes, handbags, belts, laptops, mobile phones, curtains, towels etc.
BREE MTB
This year Bree Racing Club are hosting three races, two downhill and one enduro. The first downhill is on Saturday and Sunday next, April 15, and 16. Last year two of the Bree racers finished in first place, Craig Ryan in the Masters and Darragh Walsh in the junior. Barry Doran came third in the Masters 40 category. Call over to Bree Hill and see some of Ireland’s top racers in action over the weekend.
