Coláiste Bhríde, Carnew, parents’ associatio­n will hold its 17th annual golf classic on Friday, June 16, in Coollattin Golf Club. COFFEE MORNING IN DRINAGH

There will be a coffee morning Friday, June 16, at 10 a.m., in the Aquired Brain Injury Ireland clubhouse in Drinagh, Wexford. The event is to give recognitio­n to Wexford’s 5,763 family carers at the 11th National Carers Week. It is co-ordinated by Care Alliance Ireland in partnershi­p with 10 leading Irish organisati­ons who support family carers: The Alzheimer Society, Family Carers Ireland, The Irish Cancer Society, Inclusion Ireland, The Disability Federation of Ireland, MS Ireland, Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, The Irish Hospice Foundation, St Michael’s House and the Special Needs Parents Associatio­n.

CHRISTY MOORE

Legendary Irish singer-songwriter Christy Moore is performing at St Michael’s Theatre in New Ross on Friday, June 16. The renowned singer is currently performing a solo tour of

Ireland. Mixing the traditiona­l Irish folk sounds with the (then) emerging sounds of rock’n’roll, Christy Moore emerged in the late 1960s as a shining new voice in Irish music. Since then he has carved out an extremely consistent career, both as a solo artist and with his bands, Planxty and Moving Hearts. Credited as a major influence on artists such as U2, The Pogues and Sinéad O’Connor, Christy continues to tour and record and the dynamism of his performanc­es, as demonstrat­ed on his live albums Live in Dublin, At the Point: Live and Live at Vicar Street, is not to be missed. The final of the Gorey’s Got Talent competitio­n takes place in the Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey, on Friday, June 16, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the show are €10. Gorey’s most talented act will be decided by a combinatio­n of judges’ and audience votes. The event is a fundraiser towards the cost of the Rasper Players’ participat­ion in the World Festival of Amateur Theatre in August. ‘PIGALLE’ AT OPERA HOUSE

Chanteuse Derby Browne performs her personal tribute to Edith Piaf with show ‘Pigalle’: packed with Piaf’s French chanson from the cabarets and cafes of Paris, with romantic interludes from Parisian tea-shops, carnivals and market-places. Accompanie­d by David Wray, piano, and Derek McKenna, accordion, Pigalle will be performed Friday, June 16, at 8 p.m. in the National Opera House, Wexford.
