Hatch Lab hosts top entrepreneur talk
MARTIN Naughton, multi-millionaire founder of Glen Dimplex recently captivated an appreciative audience at the Hatch Lab at the M11 Business Campus in Gorey.
He engaged in a conversational interview with Robert MacGiolla Phadraig, co-founder of Ireland Gateway to Europe, and Professor Kevin Whelan of
Notre Dame University who organised the event as part of the Byrne Perry History and
Heritage Festival of which he is a patron.
Irish entrepreneur Dr Martin Naughton has overseen his company to become the world’s largest manufacturer of domestic heating appliances with over 8,000 employees,
22 manufacturing facilities, and annual sales of around
$1.6 billion. His leadership, wisdom, and business insights are much admired.
They were presented to the
250-strong audience by John
O’Connor, CEO of the Hatch
Lab, who spoke about the services available at the new facility. Wexford County Council’s Hatch Lab, in partnership with Bank of Ireland, offers incubation space, networking, mentoring, advice, organised events, peer to peer learning and sharing of ideas to fledging micro-enterprises in the technology sector. John said there has been interest locally, nationally, and internationally so far.
He said that those who attended the talk were fascinated by Dr Naughton’s story which he told in a very personal way, recalling both the ups and the downs during his career. He has spent a lot of time promoting Ireland in the US, and is part of the Ireland Gateway to Europe of Group. The Gateway group made a presentation to him on the evening in recognition of that work.
Thanks went to all who attended the evening.
