GAA CLUB NOTES

There can be no parking on the bank near the hurling wall for two or three weeks as it is fenced off during constructi­on of the allweather pitch and walking strip. Please park on the road.

There was no jackpot winner in the lotto draw on the 19th. There were three match-three winners. The numbers were 5, 13, 16 and 22. The jackpot is now at €2,300.

The pitches shall be very busy each morning this week due to the first Cúl Camp taking place. There is a second camp from July 31 to August 4 (code WX38 ON gaa.ie/kelloggscu­lcamps if you want to book for then)

Fixtures: Tuesday, July 4 – under-12 boys’ football in St Martin’s at 7.30 p.m. Thursday, July 6 – under-16 Hurling in Ferns at 7.30 p.m. Friday, July 7 – under-10 boys Hurling v Craanford in Kilanerin at 7.30 p.m.

This is always a difficult time for team mentors due to players being away. Please let them know in advance if your boy or girl will be away for any matches.

KILANERIN ICA

The summer outing takes place on Tuesday, July 18, meeting at Kilanerin Hall going onto Johnstown Castle and Gardens for tour and luch Afternoon tour of Enniscorth­y 1798 centre and castle followed by dinner in the Courtyard Ferns. FIELD DAY AND PATTERN

The field day and pattern in Ballyfad takes place on Sunday the 16th starting with prayers and blessing of graves at 2 p.m.

The field day committee are looking for people to help out on the day if you are available please contact Eileen Leonard 087 2678715 or Terence Clare at 087 6884282.

WHIST

Top score at last week’s whist was won by Donal Kavanagh; first lady was Moll O’Toole; second lady was Mary Lee; third lady was Sadie Mordaunt and half time lady was Ross Bailey; first gent was Noel Carter; second gent was Keith Bailey; third gent was Betty Graham and half time gent was shared by Peg Mcdonald and Mary Ellen Askins. Raffle winners on the night were Rosari Gillick Keith Bailey and Lil Kavanagh. Whist continues on Wednesday night at 8.30 p.m.

Friends of Gorey District Hospital would like to thank everyone who kindly contribute­d to the recent church gate collection. The amount collected in Kilanerin was €202.76 and the amount for Ballyfad was €119.06.

KILANERIN PATRON

The Kilanerin Cemetery committee would like to thank everyone who helped in any way at the patron. We would also like to thank everyone who kindly gave donations. The amount collected on the day was €2,718.23

CHURCH CLEANING
