COFFEE MORNING

Johnstown-Coolgreany senior citizens will hold a coffee morning On Friday, July 7, in the May Byrne Community House, Coolgreany from 10 a.m. to midday. This fundraiser is to offset the cost of the senior citizens’ annual Christmas party. We will have a fine selection of home baking for sale on the day. We would be grateful for your support.

POSITIVE AGEING

Arklow Positive Ageing Group are organising a Bus to Board Gais Theatre on November 16 to see ‘Miss Saigon’ the musical. Tickets cost €30, and a €10 deposit must be paid by July 1 to book your ticket. Further details phone Gertie at 086 0817534.

MAY BYRNE HOUSE

The recently newly refurbishe­d May Byrne Community House is now available for all new groups who wish to avail of same. The refurbishi­ng means a lot more space for meetings both downstairs, and also upstairs which has projector facilities and a white board for presentati­ons, there is also beautiful new kitchen facilities with lots of space.

TIDY TOWNS

The Tidy Towns Committee are putting in a huge effort to get the village into the best possible for the upcoming adjudicati­on in the Tidy Towns competitio­n, and also a big effort is needed to keep the village looking its best for the Keep Wexford Beautiful Competitio­n which will be adjudicate­d over the month of July also, so please help anywhere you can.

CROGHAN ATHLETICS

Huge congratula­tions to Pat Foley, who has been selected by the Irish Mountain Running Associatio­n to represent Ireland on the team to compete in Snowdon in Wales on July 15. We wish Pat and the Irish team the best of luck.

Well done to the everyone who took part in our summer league. It was a very successful event with 50 athletes taking part over the 12 weeks.

On behalf of Croghan Athletics and Scoil Íosagáin we would once again like to thank everyone who helped and supported our Family Fun Day last Sunday. Your support is hugely appreciate­d. The event, including raffle ticket sales, raised a total of €4,400 which will be divided evenly between the school and the athletics.
