ENNISCORTHY IS GETTING READY TO ROCK... AND COOK!

ROCKIN’ FOOD FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE ON AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND

-

THE COUNTDOWN is well and truly on for this year’s Rockin’ Food Festival in Enniscorthy, which takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, August 4- 6.

Having proved a massive hit since merging delicious local delicacies with the very best of rockin’ roots music, the festival once again this year will offer the very best of free family entertainment.

Among the events you can expect from this year’s festival are demos with top chefs, talks and tastings, workshops and a Street Feast where you can visit over 80 artisan food and craft producers. Of course, all of this takes place to the tune of some amazing live music with acts from all over the world descending on Enniscorthy.

As far as the little ones are concerned, there will be plenty to keep them going too with free events and ticketed events from just €5.

There will be plenty to peak their interest including pizza making, medieval shield/pottery making, ancient east storytelling, punch and judy shows, lego workshops, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, free outdoor cinema, inflatables, trampolines and much, much more.

A new addition to this year’s festival is the Rock n’ Roll Vintage Steam Train, which gives patrons the opportunity to arrive to the festival in style aboard a traditional carriage which departs Connolly Station at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday, August 6.

Among the events in the Food Marquee over two days will be Summer Eating with Edward Hayden, Patrick Ryan on Real Bread Making, Desserts with Fáilte Ireland Food Ambassador Anthony O’Toole and seafood with Paul Hynes from La Cote.

Among the acts lined up to rock the weekend away are Pat Cappocci all the way from Australia and The Domestic BumbleBees from Sweden, as well as a whole host of Irish rock n’ roll talent including Joy Fury & Hayride.

There will also be plenty of fun and games at pubs around Enniscorthy with rock n’ roll gig trails, gin trails and Irish craft drinks trails. This year’s festival promises to be among the best yet and hopes to be a real occasion for Enniscorthy.
