MONTH’S MIND MASS

The Month’s Mind Mass for the late Rev. Fintan Morris C.C. will be held in Kiltealy Church on Saturday evening next August 12th at 7 pm.

HOUSE OF STORIES

Ballindagg­in House of Stories gets underway again this Thursday night August 10th for another great night of music, song recitation­s and tall tales. Beginning at 8 pm, admission free, tea and refreshmen­ts served.

KILTEALY DEVELOPMEN­T

The yoga class held in Kiltealy on Sunday July 30th raised €130. It was an excellent class which was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Jane Kennedy for her time. The trolly draw held in O’Reillys SuperValu on Saturday 29th was won by Garry O’Neill, Ballindagg­in. The draw raised €1,145.

SPLIT THE POT

Last week’s winner of Kiltealy N.S. split the pot was Anna Mai White who won €135. The draw takes place in Kiltealy Hall every Monday evening at 7 pm for the summer holiday period.

KILTEALY PARK FEST

On August 19th the Kiltealy Park Fest will be held organised by Kiltealy Developmen­t group to raise funds for the community park.

Activities will include–children’s disco and games at Kiltealy Community Centre (outside weather permitting), from 4 to 6 pm, admission free, Childrens activities will include Disney characters, games, face painting and childrens DJ, also tea, buns and children’s barbecue available from 5–6 pm.

From 8 pm till late it will be adults (over 18) only with bar and live bands including American Heart until midnight with DJ later, barbecue from 8-11 pm. Tickets at €15 (including barbecue) are now available from committee members.

SYMPATHY

Deepest sympathy is extended to Melissa Cod, Mohurry on the recent passing of her mother Betty Codd, Killurin. Interment took place in Bellview Cemetery on Monday last week. Deepest sympathy is also extended to Chris Forrestal and family, Rathduff on the passing of his sister Anne Theresa (Tessy) Forrestal which occurred on August 1st. Interment took place in Rathnure Cemetery on Thursday last. May they rest in peace.

OUR LADY’S ISLAND

The pilgrimage season begins at Our Lady’s Island on Aug. 15th with Mass at 3 pm celebrated by Bishop Brennan. Mass during the pilgrimage season daily at 3 pm and 8 pm.

THE THATCH

There was a large attendance in The Thatch Pub in Kiltealy village on Saturday July 29th when they opened their new lounge after major restoratio­n work to the premises which includes state of the art kitchen and toilets. The spacious lounge area is decorated to a high standard and a comfortabl­e venue for all to enjoy. We wish Philip and Mary Bowe every success with the business.

Social and tea in Rathanna Hall this coming Sunday night August 13th with Adrian Ryan providing the music.
