It was great to see so many from the Sliabh Buidhe Rovers out racing and training last weekend.

With the Dublin Marathon and Wexford Novice and Senior cross-country fast approachin­g, it’s a busy time for the club. On Sunday in Dublin, S.B.R. had twelve runners taking part in the Rock and Roll half-marathon, and two in the 10k.

Leading home S.B.R. were Brian Kearney in 1:30:08 and Christine Hill in a big P.B. of 1:50:12.

Eugene Doherty ran a stormer in 1:30:29 which when official results are posted may be another age division win for him. With full results not out yet, please let us know anyone we missed.

At the correspond­ing 10k at the Rock and Roll races, Paul Gibbons won the race in brilliant style in 35:06. David Leonard also ran 37:00 to place tenth overall.

Bernard Fortune was in action during the week, placing seventh in the The Paps (An Dá Chích) run in the Derrynasag­gart Mountains.

Mick Sweeney was in action Saturday in Carlow with a well-run 44:51 at the EIST 10k.
