Enniscorthy Vocational College – Take the next step to progress your career

-

ENNISCORTHY Vocational College of Further Education (EVCFE) has a reputation of excellence across the South-East and further afield in the delivery of up to twenty courses. The school’s commitment to the needs of the learner and meeting the needs of the local community is of utmost importance. EVCFE has a proven track record of delivering first-rate courses which on successful completion allows the learner the chance of gaining employment or continuing onto Higher Education.

The courses are suitable for learners who may have just completed their Leaving Certificate or mature learners who want to return to education after a long absence to upskill. Research has shown that those who successfully complete a QQI course are better equipped and more likely to succeed at Higher Education. Aware of the many challenges both personally and academically facing the individual the College has established excellent support structures through the resident Career Guidance Counsellor and the Course Directors. There is a big emphasis on flexibility in the delivery of our courses, which assists in ensuring that each learner reaches their potential and gains hands on experience in the work place which will compliment their CV.

The following are some reasons why you should take the next step and sign up for a course at EVCFE:

EVCFE has over twenty years experience in the Further Education sector and has developed links with numerous third level institutions such as Waterford Institute of Technology, Carlow Institute of Technology and Aberystwyth University.

Teachers involved in the Further Education sector are highly skilled and are constantly engaging in professional development so as to improve the delivery of their course.

Every year eighteen students from six courses are given the opportunity to participate in three weeks’ work placement in Vasteras, Sweden as part of the Erasmus Plus programme. The entire trip is funded by Leargas and feedback from participants has always been positive.

EVCFE has developed strong links with the local community thereby allowing learners to gain meaningful work placement.

There are excellent facilities in the college and after course completion learners are ready either for the world of work or for moving onto Higher Education.

Continuous support for those returning to education with a strong emphasis on equality and diversity.

Learners can obtain up to 400 CAO points through the successful completion of a QQI Level 5 Course.

To alleviate somewhat the stress of the cost of courses, all our programmes are funded by the Department of Education and Science and the European Social Fund. There are no tuition fees except for non EU nationals. All learners are eligible to apply for full maintenance grants. A government levy of €200 applies to all courses, learners that are exempt include:

1. Full medical card holders in their own right and their dependent children.

2. Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme.

3. Those in receipt of Back to education Allowance (BTEA) or Vocational Training Opportunities ( VTOS) allowances.
