Bunclody Storytelli­ng House meets on Thursday August 24 at 8.00pm in St Aidan’s Hall, Irish Street, Bunclody – the fourth Thursday of the month. Andy and Kitty hope to see you all there for a night of story, music and song.

BUNCLODY MARKET

Bunclody Market is open every Saturday from 10am to 2pm in St Aidan’s Hall and has stalls of different produce all produced in and around Bunclody. Stalls can be found in St Aidan’s Hall, Irish Street and Market Square, Bunclody on Saturdays from 10.00am to 1.00pm Please call in have a look. Tea and coffee served only €3.

BUNCLODY LIBRARY

Coming up in Bunclody Library: ‘Images of Starlight’ Photograph­ic Exhibition by Irish amateur astronomer­s continues in Bunclody Library until September 4. Many of the photograph­s, some taken with standard DSLR cameras, are millions of light years away! This is a fantastic exhibition taken in many different locations worldwide.

Thursday August 24 at 7pm: ‘A Tale of the Whale’ with Jim Hurley – hear all about a whale stranded in Rosslare in 1891 the skeleton of which will be on display in the London National History Museum from the summer of 2017! Regular Adult Events Computer Classes: Bunclody Library has just finished the current classes for beginners in associatio­n with CTEC Wexford. If you wish to be considered for future classes, please contact Bunclody Library as soon as possible.

Adult Reading Circle: The adult reading circle will take a break for July and August and return in September. New members are always welcome.

Adult Creative Writing: The adult creative writing group ‘Drop of Ink’ will take a break for July and August and return in September. New members are always welcome..

POOL LIFEGUARD AWARD

Bunclody Swimming Pool plan to run a National Pool Lifeguard Award running from September 4 to 9 at Bunclody Swimming Pool if sufficient minimum numbers sign up.

Candidates must be 16 years old on the first day of the course and hold a valid IWSA Rescue 2 Award. Draft timetable as follows:

Monday September 4 6.00pm to 10.00pm; Tuesday September 5 6.00pm to 10.00pm; Wednesday September 6 6.00pm to 9.30pm; Thursday September 7 6.00pm to 9.40pm. Exam Sunday September 10.

Course fee €200 per person. €50 deposit required to secure a place. Register with Helen at the Pool office during opening hours.

MEN’S SHED

Anyone interested in helping to set up a Men’s Shed for Bunclody and the surroundin­g areas is asked to contact Mike Fallon at 087-4477490 or leave your details in the ArtBank, Bunclody. There will be a committee forming soon. Suitable premises are required and all suggestion­s are welcome.

DROP IN YOUTH CAFÉ

FDYS, 3 Market Square, Bunclody will be the home of a new Drop in Youth Café on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. If you are aged between 13 and 17 years drop in to our Youth Café every Thursday evening.

We will be doing indoor and outdoor activities, we have computers, wifi, music, games, arts & crafts etc.

BVC SPLIT THE POT

Bunclody Vocational College Split the Pot draw continues to take place throughout the summer months. The next draw is on Friday August 25. Envelopes are available in O’Reilly’s Supervalu, Eurospar, Ken Rothwell and Bunclody Credit Union. Your continued support is appreciate­d.

Whist is on Monday evenings in Bunclody Day Care Centre, Ryland Road. First deal 8.45pm sharp. Please note change of venue.

BINGO

River’s Edge, Bunclody hosts Bingo every Wednesday night at 9.00pm sharp. Each month a €200 donation from the proceeds is made to a local charity.

So if you enjoy a good night out, make your way to River’s Edge on any or every Wednesday evening.

CHILDREN’S DANCE CLASSES
