Climbed over chip shop counter

A 38-YEAR-OLD Bunclody man who climbed over the counter of his local takeaway to challenge staff was fined €500 on public order charges dealt with at Gorey Court.

Defendant Felix Moorehouse of Ryland Road in Bunclody was not present to hear Garda Daniel Whelan give a summary of what occurred on November 13 last.

The court heard how Moorehouse was drunk when he was refused service at Mick the Chipper.

He was restrained by the owner of the business and gardaí were called.

The accused would not calm down and he was arrested.

He was docked €200 for being intoxicate­d in public and a further €300 for his disorderly conduct.
