SEVENTH YEAR MARGARET AND JOHN HOST FUNDRAISER
IT was the seventh year John and Margaret Earle from Cullentra, Ballycanew opened their house to the public for an open garden and coffee evening for Monamolin parish.
Guests came as far as county Tipperary after Margaret advertised her charity event in the Irish Gardeners magazine.
‘We had more than 120 people come. We had various plants for sale and delicious cakes, which had all been donated,’ said Margaret.
Margaret and John managed to raise €2,700 for the upkeep of the church in Monamolin, which came from donations, sales and two different raffles they held.
‘I just want to thank all of the supporters, sponsors, and to the people who donated as well,’ said Margaret.
