SEV­ENTH YEAR MAR­GARET AND JOHN HOST FUNDRAISER

IT was the sev­enth year John and Mar­garet Earle from Cul­len­tra, Bal­ly­canew opened their house to the public for an open gar­den and cof­fee evening for Mon­amolin par­ish.

Guests came as far as county Tip­per­ary af­ter Mar­garet ad­ver­tised her char­ity event in the Ir­ish Gar­den­ers magazine.

‘We had more than 120 peo­ple come. We had var­i­ous plants for sale and de­li­cious cakes, which had all been do­nated,’ said Mar­garet.

Mar­garet and John man­aged to raise €2,700 for the up­keep of the church in Mon­amolin, which came from do­na­tions, sales and two dif­fer­ent raf­fles they held.

‘I just want to thank all of the sup­port­ers, spon­sors, and to the peo­ple who do­nated as well,’ said Mar­garet.
