COURTOWN LADIES

Ladies results week ending September 9 – Tuesday, September 5 arrived bringing with it a distinct autumn feel. The ground was wet and heavy underfoot as a result of the tail end of the storm. Alas, summer has fled our shores for this year.

Despite the conditions a large number of our hardy ladies turned out to play for the prize which was sponsored by Azure Beauty Clinic. Azure has been kindly sponsoring a competition for our ladies for a number of years and we are extremely grateful for the support.

Helen and co were on hand in the club on Tuesday evening providing our ladies with some sample beauty treatments. Thank you, girls, for your time and support.

Standard scratch was 35 and the lucky winners were:

1st: Mary Kilbride (22) with 33 points on countback; 2nd: Nell Aspel (23) with 33 points on countback; 3rd: Janice McDonald (30) with 33 points; Cat A: Stella Courtney (16) with 26 points; Cat B: Barbara Long (26) with 33 points; Cat C: Mary Cooper (31) with 29 points.

The 9 Hole Competition:

1st: Norma Casey (26/12) with 17 points on countback; 2nd: Anne Smyth (26/12) with 17 points. Well done to all our lucky winners. Tuesday, September 12 and 19, the course will be closed for major maintenance. There will be no ladies competition on these days. There will be a ladies team event on Thursday, September 21, by which time most of the work should be completed. The timesheet for 21st comes out on Monday evening 11th. See you there.
