CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL WELL ON TRACK AFTER BUMPER DOG NIGHT
WHILE it may seem like winter is drawing ever closer, it was a lovely evening at Enniscorthy Dog Track last week as the annual race night in aid of the Christmas Festival took place on Thursday. Once again, the evening saw Enniscorthy & District Chamber join forces with Enniscorthy Business Association and Wexford County Council to put together a fun night out for all the family.
There was plenty of excitement on track with a total of nine sponsored races getting underway from 8 p.m. Each races contained dogs sponsored by a vast array of local businesses and there was plenty of excitement and banter as representatives from each cheered their dogs home. Adding to the excitement was a variety of raffle prizes on offer, along with prizes for the best dressed lady, won by Maria Nolan, and best dressed gentleman, won by former District Manager Padraig O’Gorman.
All money raised on the night will do directly towards funding this year’s Christmas Festival, which has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and is a great example of the cooperation between the council and the business community in Enniscorthy. This year’s festival is set to be as big as ever with Enniscorthy Castle once again transforming into a winter wonderland for Santa’s Enchanted Castle.
Families will be invited to come along and visit the elves workshop and magical time machine, post their Christmas letter in Santa’s Post Box, take a look at where the elves sleep and sample some yummy treats from Mrs Claus’ Traditional Sweet Shop. Of course this will be all topped off with a visit to the big man himself. Booking is now open on www.santasenchantedcastle.ie
