HOSPICE COFFEE DAY
A Coffee Day in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare will be held at the home of Gerald and Mary Kelly, Wilkinstown near Barry’s Cross on Thursday, September 28, from 10 a.m. till 10 p.m. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
BREE YOUTH CLUB
Bree Youth Club has reopened on Friday nights. Junior Club will run from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. And Senior Club from 8.30.10 p.m. Young people wishing to join must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Parents are strongly encouraged to help with supervision in the club. We ask one adult from each household to give just three hours of their time over the course of the club year to help with supervision. With a little help from everyone we can continue to provide a meeting place for the young people of the parish and surrounding areas.
COMMUNITY CENTRE
Organisations using or intending to use Bree Community Centre for the resumption of activities in September are asked to contact Eddie Dunne to confirm, book regular meetings, classes and events. This is to ensure that there are no overlaps or confusion around bookings.

The Taghmon Open CC took place on Sunday 17th Sept. Results are as follows. U8 Shane Laffan 1st, Jack Doyle 3rd; U9 Lea Bolger 2nd, Jayden Kenny 1st; U10 Maura Doyle 3rd and U11 Katie Doyle 4th. Well done to all involved. Their next outing will be this Sunday in Kennedy Park at 12 noon for Day 1 of the County Cross Country Championships.

Preparations are under way for this year’s edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of Oct. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations. The structures, that served so well for so long, to create a representative Ferns Diocesan Committee for the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association seem to have broken down in the past couple of years. Suggestions and ideas of all pioneers in the diocese of Ferns would be welcome as to how the committee should go about revitalising the organisation in the diocese.
