Black tie ball for MRI scanner

- By PÁDRAIG BYRNE

THE Friends of Wexford General Hospital have teamed up with Enniscorthy & District Chamber to host a special black tie ball in the hopes of raising a significant amount of money towards a much needed MRI scanner for the hospital.

The event is set to take place in The Riverside Park Hotel on Saturday night and will roll out the red carpet for up to 300 guests who can expect a drinks reception, a four course meal and dancing ‘ til late with Divine Invention.

Established in 2006, the Friends of Wexford General Hospital acts as a conduit between the public and the hospital to raise funds to ensure that the community served by the hospital bene- fits to the fullest extent from advances in medical science. In recent years, the focus has been on obtaining an MRI scanner, a major priority for the hospital which is becoming second rate due to its absence.

A member of the Friends of Wexford General Hospital board, Mr Colm Neville of the Riverside Park Hotel has teamed up with the Chamber to deliver this 100% fundraising event with all money raised going to the MRI-Now project. All banqueting costs will be sponsored by the Riverside Park Hotel. All support is welcome and a table for ten can be booked at a cost of €600.
