Alice Connors (54) loved sport and always had a smile on her face

-

FAMILY and friends came together to mourn the sad loss of Alice (Ally) Connors of Clonleigh, Palace East recently.

Ally - who died aged 54 at University Hospital Waterford on September 30 after a brief illness - was well-known throughout the south east. She had many friends who she loved all over Wexford, Kilkenny, Waterford and Bagnalstown.

Born on September 1, 1963, Ally was a lovely bubbly person with a heart of gold. She always watched out for her family from the time her brothers and sisters were young till they all grew up and went on with their own lives. Ally was always there for them at the family home where she lived her entire life.

Ally always made her siblings, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces feel welcome in the Connors home, where there was always an open door.

She could always be seen with her late father Henry who passed away earlier this year.

They got on so well together and the craic and the laughs they used to have was a treasure forever.

Each and every one of Ally’s family have a piece of her in their hearts. A Connors family member said: ‘She gave us so much joy, between the jokes and the laughs we would have. She had a great sense of humour and was never in bad form. Anyone who knew her would say the same. She was always smiling.’

Ally was a great fan of Wexford hurling team and was always hoping that they would win. She loved horses and often helped her father Henry with them. Ally also enjoyed telling old stories and yarns and had a nickname for everyone.

The Connors family are still in shock at Ally’s sudden passing. She was a woman who never had to visit a doctor. Ally died at University Hospital Waterford after a short illness. The Connors family would like to thank family, friends and neighbours and the staff at University Hospital Waterford for their kindness and support and Fr Bernard Cushen.

May Ally’s gentle soul rest in peace.
