Free parking around Enniscorthy

-

THERE’S great news for shoppers in the build-up to Christmas as Wexford County Council have announced that free parking will be available on the street and in public car parks around Enniscorthy. Shoppers will be able to avail of free parking from 11 a.m. from December 18 to 23 and all day on Christmas Eve.

It is hoped that the move will bring even more shoppers into Enniscorthy town to avail of the great retail offering the town boasts. With Christmas being a vital time for local businesses, people are encouraged to avoid the temptation to do their Christmas shopping online and make the effort to come into town and take advantage of the great deals being offered by local stores.

The Enniscorthy Business Association is also encouraging business owners and their staff not to take up these free parking spaces in town over the Christmas period. Chairman Damian Byrne says that if a shopper comes into town and is unable to find a convenient space, they are unlikely to come back and the potential cost to local business is huge. So the message is simple - business owners and staff should avoid parking in the town centre so as to leave spaces for shoppers coming in to support local businesses.

The free parking will come as a great boost to shoppers as they sample all that Enniscorthy has to offer including the beautiful Christmas lights, Santa’s Winter Wonderland at Kilcannon and plenty more festive fun over the coming weeks.
