W ex ford Lions Club talk about the 38 years of work assisting groups such as South end Family Resource Centre, The Women’s Refuge, OzanamHouse, OurLadyofFatima School and St Brigid’ s Community Day Care Centre. An exhibition of photographs and memories from these groups runs until the end of the month.

Join the RTÉ NSO for a sparkling programme of opera and seasonal favourites featuring Veronica Dunne 2016 prizewinners Fatma Said and William Davenport. The programme will include opera highlights from Massenet’s ‘Manon’ and Léhar’s ‘Giuditta’, musical highlights from Bernstein’s ‘On the Town’ and ‘West Side Story’, and a selection of seasonal orchestral and vocal music including the beautiful ‘O Holy Night’.

Always a festive favourite, this year’s Rathnure Panto looks set to be bigger and more colourful than ever! The society are delighted to present their production - ‘A Fairytale Wedding - And You’re Invited’. The story begins at Princess Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty’s wedding, where she about to be married to none other than the King himself, Elvis! However, the evil Maleficent, of whom everyone thought was dead, reappears to destroy Aurora’s big day, placing a spell on her, that if one ray of sunshine hits her skin, she will die. So in true Rathnure Fairytale tradition, she must hide in the local blood bank, which is run by Dracula, his countess and a host of weird characters, where there is sure to be no sunlight. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14 A FESTIVE EVENING WITH GOREY CHORAL GROUP
Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey, 8 p.m. All are invited to a festive evening with Gorey Choral Group, featuring the Silvertones, in the Ashdown Park Hotel on Thursday, December 14. The evening begins with a mulled wine reception at 7.30 p.m. and doors open at 7.50 p.m. for an 8 p.m. start. Finger food will be served at the interval. CURSED MURPHY LABORATORY
Wexford Arts Centre, 8:30 p.m. Cursed Murphy’s Laboratory is an evening of public performances from established and emerging Wexford artists, plus guests, operating in all disciplines: music, visual arts, literature, film, theatre, spoken word performance, dance, and more. Curated by Cursed Murphy (aka writer and spoken word performer Peter Murphy) this will be an art happening, a social event, a club night, and an opportunity for experimentation and interdisciplinary adventure.
