CLOUGHBAWN GAA

Congratulations to Nancy Foley who was awarded Club Person of the Year 2017 at the Wexford Coiste na nÓg Convention, Nancy has been a stalwart of the Club for the past 40 years, Along with Kevin, She looked after the club’s jerseys, providing an excellent laundry service for years, the jerseys hanging on the clothes line, often provided the Lotto numbers for the club lotto, She still hasn’t won the big one!

She is well known for running the catering functions of the club, and for years the big event was the AGM, where the gentlemen of the club enjoyed a large spread after the long long meetings. Over the years she took it upon herself to serve “a cup of tea and a bit of tart” at training sessions coming up to County final dates, this created a focal point for volunteers, managers, team and spectators to meet up in a social settings before the big games in the Complex. “The Chaps” Coiste na Nog were always close to her heart and always made a special few buns or rice krispie bars for them for all their occasions. If she didn’t have the means to make everything herself she would be on the phone to arrange the loaf of sandwiches or the making of a cake. She have always worked away in the background and this was done with the minimum of fuss, and for the Club. Well done Nancy and well deserved.
