Enchantment in the castle

-

IT WAS another bumper year for Santa’s Enchanted Castle as kids of all ages flocked to the charmed venue for a sprinkling of some magic festive fairy dust.

And they weren’t disappointed, the cherished Enniscorthy icon sparkled inside and out making each visitor feel special and extraordinary. The allure of the set was enchanting drawing children short and tall into the wonder of Christmas.

And the mystery and dreamlike quality of the scenes performed expertly by the Rathnure Panto Society will leave, I have no doubt, lasting magical impressions on generations of children.

Such a success story for Enniscorthy Castle, Enniscorthy Tourism and Jean O’Connell of O’Connell Marketing, who had this to say when I caught up with her recently:

‘ The feedback from families to Santa’s Enchanted Castle this year has been truly incredible with so many families quoting it as the best Christmas expe- rience and we have received so many thank you calls, emails and reviews for creating such a magical memory for the whole family.

‘ This year, we were so pleased to offer Sensitive Santa Tours for children with special needs on designated dates, such a marvellously positive experience to be able to offer families. ‘ ‘I would like to personally thank our talented characters from the Rathnure Pantomime Society, the Enniscorthy Castle team, my own team from O’Connell Marketing and our brand partners, Treacys Hotel, Riverside Park Hotel and the Wildes and Enniscorthy and District Chamber.

‘Approximately 4,500 visitors experienced the castle magic over the festive period with many from outside the county including the US, Australia, Tanzania, France, Italy, the UK and all across Ireland and as Jean said the feedback has been phenomenal.

‘ This is a winwin initiative and coupled with the new Enniscorthy Christmas Festival has added an excitement and a new buzz to the town for the Christmas season.’
